State Council: The continuation of the policy of exemption from the purchase tax of new energy vehicles

On July 29, Premier Li Keqiang chaired an executive meeting of the State Council, which pointed out the continuation of the policy of exemption from the purchase tax of new energy vehicles. According to the "Announcement on the Policy of Exemption from Vehicle Purchase Tax for New Energy Vehicles" released in April 2020, from January 1, 2021 to December 31, 2022, the purchase of new energy vehicles will be exempt from vehicle purchase tax. Recently, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, the National Development and Reform Commission, and the Ministry of Ecology and Environment issued the "implementation plan of the industrial sector carbon peak."  The document proposed to strengthen the recycling of renewable resources and promote the construction of new energy vehicle power battery recycling systems. Shenzhen net-connected car management regulations landed

On August 1, the first domestic regulation on the management of intelligent networked vehicles, "Shenzhen Special Economic Zone Intelligent Networked Vehicle Management Regulations," came into force, making specific provisions for the first time on matters such as access registration and road driving of intelligent networked vehicles, which will strongly promote Shenzhen's intelligent networked vehicle industry to a new level. On the same day the regulations came into effect, Yuanrong Qixing conducted a fully unmanned self-driving road test in Shenzhen. The road test was the first fully unmanned autonomous driving road test with L4-level autonomous driving front-loading scheme cars after China's first intelligent networked vehicle management regulations came into effect. Mushroom Carlink and Sichuan Tianfu New District Sign $3 Billion Autonomous Driving Project

(hereinafter referred to as "Mushroom Carlink") reached a strategic cooperation agreement: the two sides will fully cooperate in the fields of autonomous driving, vehicle-road coordination, AI cloud, etc., and build a demonstration project of integrated application of intelligent network connection and a southwest industrial base of Mushroom Carlink in Tianfu New Area, Sichuan. Pony Smart and Sany Heavy Truck establish joint venture

On July 28, autonomous driving company Pony Smart and Sany Heavy Truck, a subsidiary of heavy industry company Sany Group, announced that they will set up a joint venture company to develop, produce, and sell L4 autonomous heavy truck products. The joint venture plans to start small-scale mass production and delivery in 2022 and further integrate Pony Smart's virtual driver capability and Sany Heavy Truck's wire-controlled chassis and vehicle development capability to mass-produce high-end self-driving heavy trucks in 2024. The domain controller designed by Pony Smart based on the NVIDIA DRIVE Orin system-on-chip will also be applied to the smart trucks produced by the joint venture. (Sohu)

BYD announces entry into the German and Swedish markets; first vehicles delivered in the fourth quarter

On August 1, BYD announced a partnership with Hedin Mobility, a European dealership group, to provide new energy vehicle products for the Swedish and German markets. In the Swedish market, Hedin Mobility Group, as BYD's passenger car distribution and dealership partner, will open offline stores in several cities. In the German market, BYD will work with Hedin Mobility Group to select several local, high-quality dealers to cover several regions in Germany. Azera and Shell officially open cooperation; first charging and exchange station in operation

On August 1, Azera announced that the first charging and swapping station between Azera and global energy giant Shell, the Xiamen Tongan Shell Station, was officially launched, marking the official opening of the cooperation between Azera and Shell in the electric vehicle energy sector. According to the agreement, Azera and Shell will jointly promote the construction and operation of charging and swapping facilities. In China, the two companies will build 100 power exchange stations by 2025. In Europe, the two companies plan to start the construction and operation of pilot power exchange stations in 2022. Many new energy vehicle companies announced July delivery report card

On August 1, the new car makers released their July delivery results, and once again, the order of precedence has changed dramatically. Nezha Auto took the top spot for the first time this past July, delivering 14,037 Nezha U and Nezha V units (including 1,382 units exported overseas), up 133.5% year-over-year, followed by Zero Runner, which delivered 12,044 vehicles in July and has delivered more than 10,000 units for five consecutive months. The number of passenger car cameras in the Chinese market will grow to over 100 million by 2025

On August 2, market research firm CINNO Research released a report pointing out that compared with millimeter wave radar and LiDAR, in-vehicle cameras have a lower cost and relatively more mature hardware technology, so they are the first to become the core sensor for intelligent automotive applications. Policy guidance and electric vehicle enterprises leading the wave of intelligence will help accelerate the development of in-car cameras. Vehicle core market to reach $250 billion by 2040

According to foreign media reports, consulting firm KPMG released a report showing that, based on the rapid development of electric and luxury vehicles, the automotive semiconductor market size will reach $250 billion by 2040.
